​Hello, my name is Kianna Harrison and I am the Statewide Youth Food Council Catalyst. I currently am a senior at Wake Early College of Health and Sciences. My passion for food insecurity arose during my summers off from school, as I began to explore the facets of growing food in my own backyard. This led me to developing a deepened interest in self sufficiency and wanting to help others, particularly the youth in gaining this interest as well. As the Youth Food Council Catalyst, I engage in connecting with North Carolina’s youth groups and help to serve them in achieving their food and agriculture initiatives. All in all, my purpose is to help facilitate efficient and collaborative work between youth groups, so that their goals are met and youth voices are elevated.
